Our operations have expanded over the years to transform local seams of exceptional clay into tall quality house bricks and avers. Wayne a vast team player! Joe the man of many languages! Campbell has been busy for us for over 20 years and knows our manufacturing process internal and out. Small amounts of manganese, barium, and other additives are blended with the clay to yield diverse shades, and barium carbonate is used to improve brick’s chemical resistance to the elements. Then the ingredients are formed using the extrusion method. A workman’s hut was erected on the actual site where the company now stands, and handmoulded bricks were first made to be tested for use in industry application. The bricks proved to be of best quality, and the Littlehampton Brick Company was formed. Throughout our history, the company has withstood the Great Depression, two world wars and has seen many other changes, especially in the manufacturing procedures.
